On Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, in a 10-1 vote, the Coastal Commission approved the Belmont Beach and Aquatics Center project in Belmont Shore. Although approved, several commissioners said they were concerned with the complex's location in an upscale, primarily white neighborhood in a time when equitable use is so important.
