It's Long Beach City College's turn to celebrate 2018 graduates.
More than 1,700 people will walk across the Commencement stage in celebration of their accomplishments.
The ceremony is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Veterans Memorial Stadium, 4901 E. Carson St.
Here are a few things for graduates and families to keep in mind while preparing for the celebration.
Graduates can pick up their official graduation gear from the Viking Bookstore.
The cost to purchase a cap, gown and tassel is $42.98, with options to purchase extra tassels and caps. For associate graduates, hoods are available for rent, and must be returned after the graduation ceremony.
As for clothing, high heels and purses will not be permitted at Veterans Stadium, however wedges will be permitted. Cameras, food, drink and umbrellas also are not allowed.
Caps are allowed to be decorated, but inappropriate language or images should be avoided. Additionally, caps and gowns can be donated for future graduates after the ceremony.
Before the big day, students can meet for a trial run at 4 p.m. on June 6 at Veterans Stadium.
Check-in will be available at 3:30 p.m. at the baseball field across from the stadium.
The practice run will help students familiarize themselves with the process, as well as help direct their family and friends through the process during the graduation event on the following day.
Parking is free for all vehicles during the commencement ceremony in the Veterans Stadium parking lot.
It's recommended that graduates are dropped off near the baseball field across from the stadium. Additionally, heavy traffic congestion is expected, so graduates are advised to arrive early, with plenty of time to check in.
There are separate entrances to Veterans Stadium at Conant Street and on Faculty Avenue.
No tickets will be issued for the ceremony, so seating will be available on a first come, first served basis.
For individuals with wheelchairs, electric scooters or special mobility requests, call LBCC's Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) at 562-938-4558 no later than Monday, June 5.
For families and loved ones who can't make it, the ceremony will be streaming online for free, as well as on television on channel 15 in Long Beach, channel 29 in Lakewood and on channel 45 on Frontier.
Streams will be broadcasted online at lbcc.edu on the day of the event.
There's a few other important items to keep in mind for guests and graduates.
Balloons, drones, airhorns, confetti and skateboards will not be allowed at the stadium. Balloons can, however, be left in vehicles and gifted to graduates after the ceremony.
Professional photographers will be onsite and photos will be available for purchase on Friday, June 15, on the Grad Images website (gradimages.com).
LBCC's 2018 graduation commencement ceremony will be from 4 to 6 p.m. next Thursday, June 7, at Veterans Memorial Stadium, 4901 E. Carson St.
