A man who was crawling in the lanes of Pacific Avenue in Long Beach shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday was fatally struck by a sedan that was then driven away from the scene, police said.
The unidentified man was in the northbound lanes of Pacific Avenue, crawling both east and west on the roadway north of Fifth Street when he was struck, Long Beach Police said in a release.

The car that struck him was described as a white sedan, possibly a Nissan, traveling in the northbound left lane of Pacific Avenue, which has two lanes in each direction at its intersection with Fifth Street. The sedan kept going, and its driver turned east on Sixth Street, police said.
