The man who made eating chicken fingers a thing, Todd Graves, is in the planning staging of a new reality television show.

Graves is known as the founder and CEO of Raising Cane’s. The single entrée chain has grown from the first restaurant outside the North Gates of Louisiana State University to more than 500 outlets worldwide.

When the drive-thru restaurant opened last November near Traffic Circle at 4500 Atherton Ave. in Long Beach, the buzz was all about the long line of cars and the famous sauce that only the general managers know how to. make.

The show, with a working title of “Restaurant Recovery,” will cast 20 different restaurants across the country that have closed or are on the verge of closing as a result of the pandemic.

Graves will coach the restaurant owners, using a budget of $100,000.

“I don’t just want to help these restauranteurs come back, I want them to come back stronger," he said. "So when the next pandemic, tornado, hurricane or any disaster strikes, they will be ready and equipped to weather the storm.”

Filming is planned to start in August.
