This could be the sweetest start to the summer ever: free ice cream.
You can get yours in Long Beach on Saturday, June 22, in celebration of the opening of Rori’s Artisanal Creamery, which starts serving scoops that day from its new home at SteelCraft in Bixby Knolls.
From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., everyone gets a free scoop of ice cream to help celebrate the arrival of the ice cream maker.
But besides the free ice cream being just a one-day-only offer, there’s another catch, you only get one free ice cream serving for the day — so no getting in line again and asking for seconds.
Although really, if you maybe wore some sort of costume, no one would probably recognize you if you went back for seconds, not that we’re saying to do that.
The Long Beach spot will be the sixth location for the shop, which serves flavors such as an espresso ice cream called Cup O’ Joe Spinelli, the Brown Sugar Banana and the old school throwback Malted Milk Ball, which is made with malt balls.
Rori’s Artisanal Creamery joins other businesses such as Smog City Brewing, Steelhead Coffee, Rainbow Juices, Pig Pen Delicacy, Waffle Love, DeSano Pizzeria, and Tajima Ramen at SteelCraft, the Long Beach-born brand of outdoor food courts assembled from shipping containers. SteelCraft is at 3786 Long Beach Blvd.; information is at steelcraftlb.com.
