shake shack opens

Shake Shack celebrated the grand opening of its new Long Beach location last Thursday, Nov. 7, at the recently opened 2ND & PCH shopping center.

The much anticipated 2ND & PCH, an 11-acre open air commercial center, held its grand opening last month with hundreds of locals gathering at the retail center for the first time.

The 215,000-square-foot center includes all sorts of stores, from jewelry shops to a Whole Foods to fashion stores and of course restaurants.

More than a dozen restaurants are set for 2ND & PCH, but sadly for the hungry, not all were yet serving food by the grand opening.

But a few have begun to open their doors now.

Here is a list of the ones that are open for business so far:

Boba Guys

It’s tea time at Boba Guys who mix organic, oat and almond milk, plus house-made syrups and fruit purées in their tea.

Border BBQ

This is one of the three restaurants at the center created by famed chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken. Border BBQ serves bowls, wraps, and salads made with slow smoked Texas-style brisket, mesquite smoked chicken, pulled pork and smoked tofu.

Pacha Mamas

Another restaurant by Feniger and Milliken, Pacha Mamas is about ceviches and seared skewers a la plancha with Peruvian and coastal inspired sauces.

Shake Shack

Burgers, fries and shakes — so in other words, the essentials of life are found here.

Tuesday’s Sweet Shoppe

It’s not actually a restaurant, but if you have a sweet tooth, this is your place since it sells more than 200 different types of candy and more than 60 different kinds of chocolate bars, plus cotton candy by the bucket.

The other restaurants opening soon are Caffe Luxxe, Hungry Angelina, Noble Bird, Ola Mexican Kitchen, Otasan Sushi, The Bungalow (the third concept from Feniger and Milliken in the complex), The Italian Homemade Company, Tocaya Organica and Urban Plates.

2ND & PCH is at 6400 Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach.
