The Lakewood Lancers took the long road to Lawndale and made short work of host Leuzinger, 44-0, in the Lancers' last non-leauge game before the Moore League schedule begins next week.

Quarterback Tyler Shultz finished the night 12-for-18 and four touchdown passes, two to Todd Barr and two to X'avier Shephard.  Darius Powe and Ally Long also scored.

It was a family affair in the second half with Lakewood leading 21-0 after halftime.  Running back Rashad Wadood's little cousin, freshman Jamill Wadood, had a blocked punt and an interception, and former Lancer now Notre Dame defensive end Justin Utupo's little brother, freshman Jared, got the first sack of the night.

The Lancers (4-0) will travel to Compton next week to kick off the Moore League schedule.

Cupcakes taste good, yum!

Look, I'm happy that my Lancers won the game, but I don't think playing teams like Locke and Leuzinger will prepare this team for the playoffs. Sure, I'm happy to be 4-0, but since the Moore League schedule always features more than it's share of cupcakes anyway, I don't think it's wise to schedule even MORE cupcakes in preseason.
