The Lakewood Lancers made quick work of the Millikan Rams last night and took home the Hamilton Trophy with a 55-7 Moore League victory. This is the fifth time the Lancer offense has put up more than 40 points. They’ve outscored their last three opponents 137-49 after losing to Poly.
Senior quarterback Tyler Shultz was a perfect 12-for-12 for 165 yards and four touchdowns while backup running back Kendall Rodgers ran the ball seven times for 109 yards and a touchdown. Senior wide receiver Malik Gilmore had two touchdown catches.
“We got a lot of players in and it was fun to have a quarterback be perfect, we’ve never had that,” said Lakewood head coach Thadd MacNeal. “We’ve got to get healthy during the bye week.”
Running back Allie Long is still sidelined with a quad injury and backup Rashad Wadood sprained his ankle on the first carry of the night. Keith Franklin, Shaq Walton, Dupree Jordan-Roberts and Todd Barr all got into the end zone.
Lakewood (8-1, 4-1) will start preparing for Wilson in two weeks and Millikan (1-8, 0-4) will play Compton next week.
