Wilson High School's Sport it Forward Club ended its first year with a successful color run.

The club sponsored about 40 youngsters from the YMCA of Greater Long Beach. The Sport it Forward members led the young runners on a roughly half mile run that ended at the finish line with color bombs made out of chalk.

According to Kristin Berry, club president, the members have been raising money for the event through school bake sales.

In addition to the color run, the club also is raising money to help Washington Middle School's girls' soccer team with funding, uniforms and shoes.
