The Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) has announced memorial service plans for Long Beach Fire Captain David Rosa, who was shot and killed in the line of duty. Captain Rosa leaves behind his wife Lynley, his two sons, Alec, 25 years old, and Sam, 15 years old, his parents, Paul and Jean Rosa, and his sister, Julia Hensley.

Memorial services for Captain Rosa have been set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, in the Long Beach Arena, located at the Long Beach Convention Center, 300 E. Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach. The memorial services will be open to the public and will be followed immediately by a public reception in Captain Rosa’s honor that will take place in the same venue.

"Our hearts, prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends," LBFD spokesman Jake Heflin said.
