A portrait of Long Beach Fire Captain Dave Rosa.

In a ceremony this Saturday in Sacramento, Long Beach Fire Captain David Rosa's name will be added to the state Memorial Wall outside of the state Capitol Building.

Rosa was shot and killed on June 25 while responding to an apartment fire in downtown Long Beach. The man accused of shooting him, Thomas Kim, died a few weeks later while in the hospital.

Rosa's name will be one of 37 added this year to the memorial, which contains the names of more than 1,300 fallen firefighters. During the ceremony, Rosa's surviving partner Ernesto Torres (who was also shot) will present Rosa's flag to his widow.

The ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and will be streamed live in high definition at the California Fire Foundation's Facebook page and at www.cafirefoundation.org/memorial.
