The city’s deputy director of public works Sean Crumby and First District Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez celebrated the opening of 30 new parking spaces along three blocks of downtown Long Beach on Thursday, April 28.

The new diagonal spaces were converted from parallel parking spaces along Ninth Street, between Pacific Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard. The area met the criteria for diagonal parking, such as street width and number of driveways.
