Long Beach City College has chosen five LBCC superintendent-president candidates for the Long Beach Community College Board of Trustees’ consideration.

Board President Dr. Virginia Baxter announced the candidates today, Thursday, Feb. 23. They are: Tod A. Burnett, president of Saddleback College; Otto W.K. Lee, president of Los Angeles Harbor College; Marvin Martinez, president of East Los Angeles College; Melinda Nish, executive advisor to the president at the College of the Marshall Islands; and Reagan F. Romali, president of Harry S Truman, one of the City Colleges of Chicago.

Those chosen will be considered to take over for former LBCC Superintendent-President Eloy Ortiz Oakley, who left in December to be chancellor of the California Community Colleges.

The board will interview the candidates this month, with a decision expected in March or April.
