More than 10,000 — a school record — will receive their degrees for California State University, Long Beach's 2016-2017 year, with many of those walking the stage at commencement this week. Eleven ceremonies will be from Tuesday through Friday, May 23 to 26, at the school.

The festivities' hub is the Central Quadrangle, where more than 70,000 family and friends will watch the awardees beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, with the college of engineering. At 1 p.m., it is the natural sciences and mathematics ceremony and 5 p.m. is the college of education's.

The liberal arts college's three ceremonies will be at 9 a.m., 1 and 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 24.

The health and human services college ceremonies will be at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, May 25.

At 9 a.m. Friday, May 26, the arts college graduations will take place, with the business administration college ceremony at 1 p.m.

President Jane Close Conoley will address each college with the dean at every ceremony, and distinguished alumni will be recognized.

Attendees must have a complimentary ticket, including children, due to the number of graduates, according to CSULB graduation organizers. Nearby live-streaming rooms, marked with banners, will be available to watch graduation without tickets. There also will be a live webstream at http://web.csulb.edu/stories/commencement/#icons

One-hour receptions will be hosted by respective colleges following each ceremony on the University Student Union's terrace level, with refreshments and music.
