California State University, Long Beach, students can access free food if they meet certain criteria.
Those whose income is less than $1,980 per month and work at least 80 hours per month or have an unpaid internship or are involved with Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) could qualify for up to $180 worth of free food.
The benefit comes from the CSU system's CalFresh Outreach Program, commonly known as the federally-funded Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), which it's had since last year.
To access benefits, visit the drop-in center from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the student health center, 1250 Bellflower Blvd.
