New student applicants at California State University, Long Beach, for fall 2017 are at an all-time high — 91,268, according to a release from the school.

The number includes first-time freshmen, with 61,716, and transfers, 29,552, and is the most received by any California State University (CSU) campus, officials.

The school touts its efforts to increase graduation rates and improve access and the college-going rates of regional students among the reasons for increased applications.
