POLICE BRIEF: Long Beach Man Accused Of Stabbing, Killing Brother

A Long Beach man has been arrested and charged with stabbing his brother to death Friday night.

Long Beach Police officers were called at 12:15 a.m. Saturday to a possible stabbing near Elm Avenue and Louise Street. The officers found 20-year-old Geovany Ortiz suffering from a stab wound.

Ortiz was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Officers found 22-year-old Israel Ortiz near the site of the attack, arrested him and held him on a charge of murder. According to police, the brothers got into an argument that led to the stabbing.
