Police were searching for the suspect in a shooting in Long beach’s Wrigley neighborhood that left a man dead late Saturday.

The shooting followed a dispute between the suspect and the victim in the area of West Willow Street and Eucalyptus Avenue at around 11:40 p.m., Long Beach police said.

Witnesses saw a man fleeing the area on foot immediately after the shooting, according to authorities.

Police and fire paramedics arrived at the shooting scene and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. They attempted lifesaving measures, but he died.

Police did not released a detailed description of the suspect. And they did not identify the victim. They said the coroner’s office is attempting to notify his family of his death.
