Time to mark the calendar: The folks behind Long Beach’s next big shopping center have announced an unveiling date.
The 11-acre 2nd & PCH project will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, Oct. 24. But Whole Foods, the site’s biggest tenant, will have its own ribbon-cutting festivities the day prior.
Beginning at 8 a.m. that Wednesday, Oct. 23, folks will be greeted at the grocery giant’s new location at 6400 E. Pacific Coast Highway with free coffee, snacks and music before the shop opens its doors at 9 a.m.
The first 300 people to show up will get the added bonus of a custom Whole Foods canvas tote bag and a savings card — all of which will have values ranging from $5 to $100.
“We can’t wait for the Long Beach community to experience their new Whole Foods Market,” Matthew Spohn, the store’s Team Leader said in a statement. “We’re excited to provide our customers with an even larger selection of high quality food and grocery items, as well as new features including Nékter Juice Bar and an in-store bar and restaurant.”
After opening day, the store will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
As for the rest of the 2nd & PCH development, a spokeswoman said more shops will open beginning that Thursday, and more openings throughout the project will continue through 2019 and into 2020.
