Frilly dresses and silly tuxes will be appropriate Friday in Bixby Knolls for the Prom Night, part of the First Fridays party.

Prom will be at the Expo Arts Center and include slow dances, punch, a prom photo booth, a prom photo exhibit and yearbook signing. There also will be more traditional First Friday activities, including a group art show hosted by Toaster Music, an exhibit by artist Margie Darrow, Foodways Stories in the TKTC Theater ($10-$15 admission), Never Speak Poets in the Back Room Theater and more.

The Prom Trolley will be playing 1980s music, and Liberation Brewing Co. will have prom movies, including "Footloose." There will be a wedding dress fashion show at Strut Bridal Salon and activities at many of the Atlantic Avenue businesses.

There even will be an LB Littles Prom for the youngsters in the parking lot at 4325 Atlantic Ave. with a DJ spinning tunes. There will be a corsage/boutonniere making station, dance lessons, prom photos and refreshments.

First Fridays Prom Night is organized and presented by the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association. The party starts at 6:30 p.m. For more, go to
