Long Beach’s hippest retailer of sneakers and streetwear, Proper LBC, has stepped into Belmont Shore with a new store at 5209 E. Second St.
Proper LBC, which also has a shop in downtown Long Beach at 425 E. First St. and a store in Houston, Texas, offers a variety of clothing and shoe brands — with products that range from rare collectibles to everyday classics. Look for Adidas, Vans, Converse, Karhu and more in a “curated collection” of the store’s merchandise.

America's Best Here
Just ahead of the New Year, an American's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses has set up shop in Long Beach.
The company, which has more than 500 retail stores across the country, sells eyeglasses, contact lenses and safety glasses, in addition to providing eye exams. Their mission: To make quality eye care and eyewear affordable and accessible to all Americans.

Dine Out 2019
Restaurants, registration is open now for Restaurant Week 2.0 presented by your own Grunion Gazette.
Set to take place in the New Year, Feb. 24 through March 2, the seven-day citywide feast is an opportunity for foodies to enjoy two-course brunches and lunches starting at $10 or three-course dinners or small plates starting at $20.
Dine Out organizer and founder Elizabeth Borsting said she expects to showcase more than 50 restaurants, pubs and wine bars from across the city — from casual to fine dining.
Registration is $350 per restaurant or $300 per restaurant for multiple units and concepts. Restaurants also can opt in to support a charity of choice for the first two nights of the event with a 10% donation those nights.
“Dine Out Long Beach has become an integral part of the city’s culinary scene,” Grunion Publisher Simon Grieve said. “Being a partner of Restaurant Week allows us to help shine a spotlight on all the diverse dining that is available throughout Long Beach along with the collection of unique neighborhoods.”

New Pediatric Care
