Long Beach’s Gelson’s at Marina Pacifica is now carrying Wahlburgers, the supermarket recently announced — making it the first retail grocery brand on the West Coast to offer the restaurant’s line of packaged beef products.
The meat department at all Gelson’s stores across Southern California are now stocked with ground beef, pre-formed patties, and pre-formed sliders made with the proprietary Wahlburgers Angus blend of brisket and chuck. The products sell from $9.99 to $11.99.
Wahlburgers, a Massachusetts-based restaurant chain launched eight years ago by Chef Paul Wahlberg and his entertainment industry brothers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, is a fast-casual burger restaurant operating nearly 30 locations in 19 states, mostly on the East Coast.

Beachwood Opens Early
Breakfast lovers rejoice, Seal Beach’s Beachwood BBQ is launching a new Southern-inspired morning menu.
Owner and Chef Gabriel Gordon and Executive Chef Andrew Smith said the new menu offers “smart and flavorful twists on breakfast favorites,” including Biscuits and Gravy, Cast Iron Baked Eggs, Smoked Brisket Hash, and a Wild Boar Country Fried Steak sourced with local ingredients.
The business, which opened 12 years ago, is known for its beer and lunch and dinner comfort food, but Gordon said they are proud to introduce something new to the community’s breakfast scene, including coffee by local roaster Thunderking. And, there will still be beer for breakfast, including new Funkmosas (mimosas made with Beachwood Blendery’s Belgian-style sour blonde ale and fruit juice).
Breakfast is now being served daily, except Tuesday, only at the Seal Beach location at 131 ½ Main St. in Seal Beach. Another Beachwood BBQ and Brewing location can be found for dinner and lunch service at 210 E. Third St. in Long Beach.

Subs Help Cause
Jersey Mike’s is kicking off its ninth annual Month of Giving in March.
More than 185 Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants in California — including the four Long Beach locations — are asking customers to support nonprofits such as Cancer for College and City of Hope through the campaign, which culminates with Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving on Wednesday, March 27, when local Jersey Mike’s restaurants will give 100% of the day’s sales to those organizations.
Jersey Mike’s fast-casual restaurants throughout the country will donate every single dollar that comes in to more than 180 different charities including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more on the Day of Giving, according to company officials.
In 2018, Los Angeles, Fresno, Inland Empire and Santa Barbara area Jersey Mike’s locations raised more than $842,000 during the campaign. Nationwide, the month-long campaign raised more than $6 million.
