The Interfaith Blessing of the Animals will begin at 6:15 p.m. this Saturday with a walk down the red carpet at the launch ramp at Granada Avenue on the beach.

Clergy representatives are scheduled to attend from St. Bartholomew’s Church, Baha’i Faith, Pueblo de Dios Lutheran Church in Compton, Bixby Knolls Christian Church, the Centers for Spiritual Living and Universal Life Church.

The ceremony will open with a moment of silence for those pets that are being inhumanely treated. Each of the faith leaders will then speak and that will be followed by the blessing of the pets.

Event organizer Justin Rudd says, “It’s important to recognize and honor the great bond and relationship between pets and their people.”
