Registration has opened for the Long Beach Rescue Mission's 36th annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel, 111 E. Ocean Blvd.

"The Annual Long Beach Leadership Prayer Breakfast is a citywide event … bringing together our community leaders representing civic, business, educational, nonprofit and church endeavors for a time of refreshing and renewal," a release said.

The event helps to raise money for the organization and its community programs. Aside from breakfast, guests can expect music, presentations and prayers.

People can show their support the the Rescue Mission by purchasing a ticket or sponsoring a table.

Table tickets are $600 and includes 10 seats for breakfast. Event sponsorship is $1,500 and includes the table for 10, recognition in the event programming and on the Long Beach Rescue Mission's website. Signature sponsorship is $10,000.

Finally, individual tickets are $50.

Leading the prayer is pro skateboarder — now minister and author — Brian Sumner. He's featured as the event's keynote speaker. 

City Auditor Laura Doud and musician Terry Miller also will be speaking at the event. Other speakers include Long Beach Fire Chief Mike DuRee and musician and songwriter Terry Miller.

The 36th annual Long Beach Rescue Mission's Leadership Prayer Breakfast is happening from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel, 111 E. Ocean Blvd.
