Third District City Councilwoman Suzie Price's office will be painting a neighborhood utility box next month — and they're looking for young residents to submit an artistic idea or two.
The utility box is on the corner of Nieto Avenue and Appian Way. Entries for the contest must include finished designs for all four panels of the box, as well as must be appropriate for public viewing.
As for sizing, two panel sizes are 24 1/4 inches by 63 inches and two are 30 1/4 inches by 63 inches.
The contest is open to students at Rogers and Jefferson middle schools, as well as Wilson High School. The grand prize is $300 in art supply gift cards, which the winner will need to use to purchase the supplies to prime and paint the surface of the box.
All entries must be submitted by 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5. For more information, or to submit an entry, go to bit.ly/2Jex7MX.
