Mayor Robert Garcia gets up close and personal with a kitten at a previous Kitty Hall adoption event at City Hall.

In what has become an annual event during kitten season, Mayor Robert Garcia and the city's Animal Care Services will invade the City Hall lobby next week offering cute kittens for adoption.

Kitty Hall has become the city's largest kitten and cat adoption event of the year. People are invited to play with the cats and kittens available for adoption, and the process can happen right there. There also will be information about adoptions at the P.D. Pitchford Animal Village.

"Kitty Hall connects animal lovers with cats and kittens that need forever homes," Garcia said in a release. "We encourage people to adopt pets, and to spay and neuter their animals. We're hoping to spread that message at Kitty Hall."

The event will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, before the City Council meeting. The city's Mobil Adoption Wagg'in will be on site, and spay and neuter vouchers will be available. Adoptions will be discounted to $20, as well.
