Precious Lamb Preschool (copy)

Precious Lamb Preschool offers free, full-time services for homeless children.

Precious Lamb Preschool opened its doors 17 years ago in downtown Long Beach with a mission to serve children who had nowhere else to grow.

There were seven children in the first preschool room. Their mothers or parents were in shelters, recovery centers and emergency housing.

Today, Precious Lamb serves 40 children at a time, from toddlers to preschoolers, in four classrooms. It also provides parenting classes and more.

As a faith-based, Christ-centered preschool, Precious Lamb receives no government support. It gets help from partner churches, donations and an annual fundraiser.

Saturday, April 6, the preschool will celebrate the opening of a new playground with a party and an open house. The public is invited to the event, which begins at 10 a.m.

Precious Lamb Preschool is at 905 Atlantic Ave. For more information, call (562) 243-1715 or email info@preciouslamb.org.
