Moviegoers are in for a treat this summer with free outdoor movie screenings.

Family Movies in The Park

Youngsters and the young at heart are invited for family-friendly movie showings starring dragons, bees, monsters, and more this summer, organized by the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department.

All movies are scheduled to begin at dusk. Arrive early for a moon bounce and face painting. Free popcorn will be provided on-site. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and food for a picnic.

Movies are sponsored by Signal Hill Petroleum and Partners of Parks.

Week 1: "How to Train Your Dragon"

“How to Train Your Dragon” will be playing on Monday, June 17, at Pan American Park (5157 E. Centralia St.); Wednesday, June 19, at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park (1950 Lemon Ave.); and Friday, June 21 at Chavez Park (401 Golden Ave.).

Week 2: "Happy Feet"

“Happy Feet” will be playing on Monday, June 24, at Signal Hill Park (2175 Cherry Ave.); Wednesday, June 26, at Coolidge Park (352 E. Neece St.); and Friday, June 28, at Whaley Park (5620 E. Atherton St.).

Week 3: "Bee Movie," “Madagascar”

“Bee Movie” will be playing on Monday, July 1, at Veterans Park (101 E. 28th St.); Wednesday, July 3, at Davenport Park (2910 E. 55th Way); and Friday, July 5, at Silverado Park (1545 W. 31st St.).

“Madagascar” will be playing on Saturday, July 6 at Long Beach Animal Care Services (7700 E. Spring St.).

Week 4: "Bolt"

“Bolt” will be playing on Monday, July 8, at Ramona Park (3301 E. 65th St.); Wednesday, July 10, at Orizaba Park (1435 Orizaba Ave.); and Friday, July 12, at College Estates Park (808 Stevely Ave.).

Week 5: "Moana"

“Moana” will be playing on Monday, July 15, at Drake Park (951 Main Ave.); Wednesday, July 17, at Admiral Kidd Park (2125 Santa Fe Ave.); and Friday, July 19, at MacArthur Park (1321 E. Anaheim St.).

Week 6: "Frozen"

“Frozen” will be playing on Monday, July 22, at Somerset Park (1500 E. Carson St.); Wednesday, July 24, at Grace Park (361 E. Plymouth St.); and Friday, July 26, at Wardlow Park (3457 Stanbridge Ave.).

Week 7: "Cars"

“Cars” will be playing on Monday, July 29, at DeForest Park (6255 DeForest Ave.); Wednesday, July 31, at Bixby Park (130 Cherry Ave.); and Friday, Aug. 2, at Scherer Park (4600 Long Beach Blvd.).

Week 8: "Wreck-It Ralph"

“Wreck-It Ralph” will be playing on Monday, Aug. 5, at Seaside Park (440 W. Cowles St.); Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Cherry Park (1901 E. 45th St.); and Friday, Aug. 9, at Signal Hill Reservoir Park (3315 Gundry Ave.).

Week 9: "Monsters, Inc."

“Monsters, Inc.” will be playing on Monday, Aug. 12, at Stearns Champions Park (4520 E. 23rd St.); Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Heartwell Park (5801 Parkcrest St.); and Friday, Aug. 16, at Houghton Park (6301 Myrtle Ave.).

Week 10: "The Incredibles"

“The Incredibles” will be playing on Monday, Aug. 19, at McBride Park (1550 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave.); and Wednesday, Aug. 21, at El Dorado Park West (2800 N. Studebaker Rd.).

Queen Mary 2019 Movie Night Summer Series

Enjoy free movie showings with a view of the iconic Queen Mary in the background.

Queen Mary’s 2019 movie night summer series is free and open to guests of all ages. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for an enjoyable film experience. Outside food and drinks are prohibited with the exception of unopened water bottles. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase from specialty food trucks. Full bars will be open to those 21 years and older.

Showings will take place at The Queen Mary Seawalk (lawn adjacent to the ship and Long Beach Cruise Terminal).

Event starts at 6 p.m. on Thursdays. Movie begins at sundown, generally between 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• June 20, Double Feature: "Indiana Jones — Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Indiana Jones — Temple of Doom"

• July 11, "Grease"

• Aug. 22, Double Feature: "Beetlejuice" and "Edward Scissorhands"

Date night package are available from $75 per couple. Package includes a reserved couch for two, one bottle of signature Queen Mary Champagne, assorted snacks, and more.

Parking is $10 per vehicle on-site. The Queen Mary is at 1126 Queens Hwy.
