The Organic Fiji Salad, topped with a perfect delicately grilled piece of salmon, is out of the ordinary. 

And that’s what’s different about the Terrace Grill in the Long Beach Marriott.

It’s the kind of place that could get by with average food because the setting is so enjoyable. But the food is special.

The Terrace Grille is a bright open space with floor to ceiling windows, garden views, outdoor dining and a spacious layout with plenty of greenery. 

“We want people to feel they’re in a whole other world,” Crystal Sierra, director of sales and marketing, said. “We want them to enjoy the ambiance and good food.

“It has a relaxed, resort-feel, not your wedged-in airport property.”

And there’s plenty of free parking.

Many Long Beach residents know the Terrace Grille for their elaborate and popular holiday brunches, but it’s also a full-service restaurant open seven days a week serving travelers and locals alike.

Located among a number of multi-story office buildings, it also does a high-volume lunch business, especially with its daily lunch buffet, which allows people who have to get back to the office to dine quickly.

About The Food

The signature Tortilla Soup starts with homemade chicken stock, adds tomato, onion, crispy tortilla strips, avocado, sour cream and jack cheese. The strong warm broth melts the jack cheese and sour cream, creating interesting and enjoyable flavors and textures. 

That Organic Fiji Apple Salad, blue cheese crumbles, shredded carrots, sliced almonds, sliced Fiji apples, dried cranberries, and crispy salmon, topped with passion fruit vinaigrette.  $13 or $16 with salmon.

Seared Chicken Piccata features a perfectly prepared, fork tender piece of chicken, accompanied by colorful julienne vegetables, resting on garlic mashed potatoes with just enough garlic to be flavorful without being overpowering.

The Italian Panini is tender grilled vegetables, fresh mozzarella, a crisp slice of tomato and pesto all served between slices of crunchy toasted bread. 

Also recommended is their burger. The moist burger comes with perfectly cooked bacon, melted cheese, a crispy onion slice and a fresh tomato. Served on a nice fluffy sesame seed bun. It comes with a choice of fruit, chips or fries. Have the fries; crisp on the outside and fluffy inside.

Other menu items are a selection of traditional steaks including a 20-ounce porterhouse, prime rib, lamb chops, lobster tail, Chicken Marsala, Truffle Parley Mashed Potatoes and an interesting take on comfort food: Chipotle Mac-N-Cheese.

Beverages

The cocktails are unique with the Watermelon Margarita a favorite. It has beautiful pink color, intense taste. It goes down easily and leaves lingering smoothness on the palate. It consists of Casa Noble Tequila Blanco, lime, watermelon and agave.

Other special cocktails are the Cracked Gold, (Maker’s Mark, Lemon, honey, walnut bitters, lemon essence) and the Eco Mule with Bombay Sapphire Gin, lime, and cucumber.

The wine list is predominantly California wines.
