Much of this year's October is Arts Month activity will be at the Expo Arts Center in Bixby Knolls.

That's where the State of the Arts event will take place on Oct. 12. And the Bixby Knolls Business Association will put on a First Friday art celebration there this Friday, Oct. 5.

A major component of that party will be an "experience" including electronic sounds from Toaster Music, dancers of Maha and Company and more, all surrounding an exhibition of new oil painting by Anita Sinclair. The event runs for three hours, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Sander Roscoe Wolff, half of Toaster Music, said special guests Britt J and Steve Proctor will join in Friday. The other half of Toaster Music is Sumako.

The Expo Center is at 4321 Atlantic Ave. Admission is free on Friday.
